What happens when you take Earth System Science students to the field? They dive into hands-on research exploring interactions between Earth spheres, such as hydrosphere and biosphere, atmosphere and biosphere, or biosphere and anthroposphere.

Working in teams, students designed research projects, collected field data, analyzed it on site, and shared their findings at the field station. A full immersion into scientific inquiry, collaboration, and the alpine environment.

The course ESS244 Earth System Science Field Course was held from 18 to 21 June 2025 in Val Piora, Ticino.
